Omaha-River City Bass Club

River City Bass Club (RCBC)

We are a B.A.S.S. Federation fishing club located in Omaha, Nebraska.

Club fiscal year is Jan - Dec; B.A.S.S. membership is required and dues is charged.  The dues is used to enroll you into the federation roster, get you the BASS TIMES magazine, and funds the eight man State Qualifier Team. Contact  the webmaster on email to discuss club dues.  The Club also has an optional annual big bass challenge and all participants ante up a crisp $10 bill at the beginning of the year.  The heaviest bass over five pounds earns a plaque and the big bass pot.

One of our goals as a club is to improve our bass fishing skills through fellowship and a friendly exchange of angling ideas, tips and techniques.  The club meets on the third Monday of every month at Romeo's at 90th and Blondo.  Ask the host to point you to the "bass guys".

We also really, really like to fish. The club has its own [no entry fee] bass tournaments every month (usually Mar thru Oct) where members compete to see who is the best in the club for that month with the point totals going towards our own best angler of the year.

Generally, the club fishes in 100+ acre lakes in Iowa, NW Missouri, and NE Kansas for one day tournaments; and occassionally travels to southwest MO, and northeast OK for two day tournaments.

Lakes we frequent:

Iowa: Brushy Creek, Three and Twelve Mile, Viking, Icaria, West [Osceola], Anita; Missouri: Bilby Ranch, Mozingo; Kansas: Banner Creek.

Less frequent:

Truman MO, Lake of the Ozarks, MO, Table Rock, MO, and Grand Lake of the Cherokees, OK.  Of course, we are open to any place wet that holds fish.

A small [$10] optional side pot is generally thrown together at each monthly tournament with the heaviest bass claiming half the pot, while the other half goes into the state tournament fund to offset lodging costs.

Another club goal is to place eight anglers on a team to represent RCBC at the annual Nebraska State Federation Qualifier Tournament.  We use a point system at our club tournaments; and the top eight in points make the team.  The ultimate goal at the State Tournament is for the entire team to do well [win] and to get as many individuals as possible on the Federation's Regional team. (The Federation Champion is invited to fish the BASSMASTER Classic!)

New members (boat owners or not) are wanted! We'd love to talk to you about bass fishing and what our club is all about so, if you have questions or comments, please feel free to contact any one of our club officers to learn more about the club.
